Carl Jay
Director, Historic Preservation
|
| Carl Jay has made a lifelong study of historic buildings, the architects who designed them, the construction methods and even the tools used to build them. His experience with historic preservation will prove to be invaluable resource to the project team’s approach and procurement of materials. Over the years, Carl has worked on many prominent New England restoration projects including Trinity Church in the City of Boston, Cochran Chapel at Phillips Academy, The Class of 1945 Library at Phillips Exeter Academy, Memorial Hall Tower Spire Restoration at Harvard University, and the Ayer Mansion in Back Bay. Carl has a degree in Wood Science and Technology from the University of Massachusetts. |

Stuart Meurer
Sr. Project Manager

| As Sr. Project Manager, Stuart Meurer will oversee the Shawmut project team and be the liaison between the field team, Shawmut’s home office and the design team. During construction, he will manage all the business aspects of the project, keeping the University of New Hampshire continually updated on the schedule and budget progress of the project. In addition to University of New Hampshire, Stuart has worked on the campuses of Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Phillips Exeter Academy, and Wheelock College along with working on residential restoration projects on Beacon Hill. Stuart has a degree of Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University.

Trish Palmiere
Project Manager

| As Project Manager, Trish will work in conjunction with the Shawmut project team, the Design team and subcontractors. Prior to working on the University of New Hampshire campus, Trish has worked on campus projects at Phillips Academy Andover, Harvard Law School, Boston College and Babson College.

Dave Hayden
Site Superintendent

| Dave will be your full-time site representative during the Thompson Hall construction phase. Dave’s role on this project is to
oversee that the subcontractors are fulfilling their agreed upon duties, all milestone dates are achieved and that the client’s needs are being met. Prior to working at University of New Hampshire, Dave managed a fast track, 100,000 sf renovation of four dormitories, and a major campus wide utility upgrade at Babson College. He also recently worked on a 34,000 sf design/build renovation of a residence hall at Bentley College.

Steve Kavanich
Senior Estimator

| Steve is the lead estimator assigned to the Thompson Hall Restoration and Rehabilitation project. He brings a strong knowledge of the budgeting process involved in new construction and renovation projects through his previous work at University of New Hampshire, Harvard University, Babson College, and Bentley College. Steve’s expertise on construction techniques will continue to be invaluable in developing accurate and complete budgets. Steve will continue to price out every available design option, and offer alternatives where appropriate, to help guide the entire team to a final scope of work that provides the best overall value for the established budget. Steve has received a certificate in HVAC systems from the New Hampshire Community College and a Certificate in Carpentry and Cabinet Making from North Bennett Street Industrial Trade School.
